The Best Pokemon Blogs and Forums

Once in my young adulthood, I managed a list of blogs, podcasts, and YouTube channels which covered Magic the Gathering. The list became more work than it was worth, and in 2022, it seems such a list isn’t even worth maintaining. But, it turns out, there are still plenty of blogs when it comes to Pokemon. As this is the one major topic that I continue to write about and gain quite a following of readers to this day, it only seemed fair that I share the love to the sites that I frequent as sources for my own article work.

As with all resource posts that I maintain, I will be vigilant in ensuring these links stay up to date every three to six months, shedding broken links as my plugins inform me. As always, if you think a blog should appear on this list, please comment or contact me via my website contact form. I will not be including YouTube channels or podcasts here, simply as it becomes a massive hassle; these days, I prefer to highlight individual channels for specific content I enjoy.

Without further ado, here is the list of the Best Pokemon Blogs and Forums I’ve found as of September 30, 2022.

Bulbagarden – the self-proclaimed original Pokemon community, and their forums are still going.

Bulbapedia – the most famous aspect of Bulbagarden, one of the best wiki sites for Pokemon information: the community-driven Pokemon encyclopedia

Flipside Gaming Pokemon TCG Articles – a great resource for those who want to play the Pokemon TCG competitively, giving you insight into what cards and decks see play currently.

Fortree Forums – another classic Pokemon community

Nintendo Life Pokemon News – Good aggregate site for the latest Pokemon news and articles

Nuzlocke University – the Comprehensive Resource for the Pokémon Nuzlocke Challenge

PocketMonsters.Net – Japanese fan site for Pokemon/Pocket Monsters

Pokebattler – the best accurate Pokemon GO battle simulator around; also has really good articles for those serious about GO raid battles.

Pokemon GO Hub – Best Pokemon GO guides, news, and in-depth articles

Pokemon News – The official Pokemon news blog. Get the latest Pokemon news straight from the source

Pokemon Showdown – the best Pokemon battle simulator out there, run by Smogon. Also extremely helpful for its Damage Calculator app and Usage Stats going back to October 2014.

Polygon Pokemon News – A section of Polygon’s website that covers news and recent updates on Pokemon

PoTown Store Blog – Pokemon Trading Card Game news, tips, and TCG set reviews

Serebii.net – There simply isn’t a better Pokemon website out there; it is truly “Where Legends Come to Life”

Smogon University – A Pokémon website and community specializing in the art of competitive battling. While there are many out there who aren’t a fan of this site, it’s one of the best resources out there in understanding how certain Pokemon fit in the overall competitive metagame – something that’s especially helpful in my Pokemon article writing.
