Quechee Gorge Dam – Photophile Musings

The Quechee Gorge Dam is a hydroelectric dam within the Quechee State Park, along the walking trail. Strangely enough I can’t find any information about the dam itself; all I was able to find was a hydroelectric dam further down the river called the Downer’s Mill Project in Quechee Village, Hartford, Vermont. What I can tell you is what the LIHI (Low Impact Hydroelectric Institute) does have information about the Ottauquechee River itself, and that this is one of at least four dams on the river.

I tried the Vermont Department of Environmental Conversation website for information on all hydroelectric dams in Vermont, but I couldn’t access the website. I may have to return to this Photophile Musing in the future, because I’m very curious about the history of this particular dam.
