Out here on the edge of time
Intersections of time and space
A lot more rhyme than reason
To this scary, lonely place
Experience left me seasoned
I’d like to honestly say
But as these precious moments
Methodically tick away
Here I wish I could stop Time’s
Relentless march to make sense
Of this universal mess
But I can’t mend every rift
Not my job to play sheriff
As I witness all these crimes
Injustices everywhere
Still, if I could stop it all
For just a quick few moments
I might be able to put
A little order to it
As I call out this and that
But here instead I sit on
The very far edge of time
Leaning into a black hole
While spinning out these rhymes
Over on the other side
There is a far bright red star
Gives some hope to this lone soul
The light that keeps me inspired
