“With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
So many days I’ve awoken with worries. I then get stuck on those worries, and they drag me down. I think about past failures. But, even thinking that I’m simply reflecting on them and trying to learn from them, I find myself still thinking about them. As I’ve learned, the more you think about failure, the more you end up dooming yourself to fail.
When I’m feeling dejected right as I awake, I try to recite some of my favorite good morning quotes, like the one from Eleanor Roosevelt. Each new day brings new strength and new thoughts. Quotes like this remind me that it’s important every morning to look forward. Think about your dreams and set goals. This is how I turned myself around after years of wallowing in depression. You have to visualize the steps you need to take towards your goals. Then, take one step at a time.
Don’t try to take a bunch of big steps all at once. You will fall sometimes. But, with each new day, there’s always a chance to take that next step! This is the best way to work towards reaching your dreams! It’s working for me. I’m sure it will work for you, too.
If you ever get stuck, be sure to look up and recite some of your favorite good morning quotes out loud. That will help you get in the right frame of mind in a hurry!
