Montpelier is the state capital of Vermont, and Thomas Slatin and I certainly enjoyed our time there while we both took photos. While it’s far from being one of the larger state capitals, it’s certainly one of the most historic with a great small town atmosphere, great shops, and plenty of cool buildings to see.
Here is a photo that I took of the downtown fire station, which is actually connected to an old commercial building with a historic stationery store called Capitol Stationers, which is still an operating business today in 2022. I especially love the “Keep Smiling” sign hung above the main fire truck bay.
