I Can Still Hear Echoes (Poetry)

light handwritten landscape man

“I Can Still Hear Echoes” is a metered poem that considers how some memories may just be echoes better left forgotten.

Can you, do you hear them?

In your dreams, do you hear?
The echoes
Of voices
You once knew?

Walking through
Dull faded
Bare landscapes

Haunted by
The ghosts of
Persons you
Once so loved

Are mem’ries
Only echoes?
Or do they
Still live on?

How much is
Worthy to
How much is
Better left

Is it just
Passing time
That strings them
Out into the aether?

Or do we
Simply forget?
Either way,
The echoes

Still remain

Do you now,
Can you still
Hear echoes?
