Atop Whiteface Mountain – Photophile Musings

This photograph is from the Whiteface Mountain Road in New York State. While it offers great views, the road was so busy that day, it was very difficult to stop and take very many photos. At the summit, the gift shop was nothing special and overpriced. The main attraction was the stairs leading up to the peak, but unfortunately, my weak lungs gave up after two flights of stairs, and we had to go home.

The parking lot attendants were also complete idiots and I’m surprised there weren’t any accidents with how packed the place was; fortunately, the guests were actually fairly respectful unlike many other places Tom and I have visited since the 2020 pandemic. While we got a few good pictures along the road and a few at the summit, it’s not a place I’d even recommend visiting; it’s not worth the price of entry at the road below for a few photos unless you have getting to the peak of a mountain in New York as a bucket list item.
