Aftertaste (Poetry)

woman in white dress with pink hair

So bitter but sweet
More trick than treat
Classic basket case
With a sour aftertaste

Black cat with sharp fangs
Her eyes full of hunger pains
Face locked in a vampire grin
Sour as a puss, but sweet as sin

Wondrous mind full of wit
Saw an angel from where I sat
Too high I set you on a pedestal
For reasons all too sensual

Even now after so long
Your memory reigns strong
My tongue remains chafed
By your hate’s aftertaste
